In collaboration with the International Math-teacher Professionalization Using Lesson Study project (Project IMPULS) at Tokyo Gakugei University, AAMT is offering a webinar for Australian teachers that discusses the application of Japanese Lesson Study to an Australian mathematics classroom.
The Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) is pleased to collaborate with Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI) in the UK to offer Australian maths educators a series of two webinars on Teaching for Mastery. The first webinar will look at the impact on maths education in England as a result of the wide-spread promotion and adoption of mastery teaching and learning practices. The second will focus on the detail of the structure and delivery of a mastery maths lesson in multiplicative reasoning at primary level.
In this webinar, we explore how learning can be enhanced while also increasing student engagement, simply by changing the type of questions that teachers pose.
This year MAWA will host Australia’s first hybrid mathematics conference which will allow educators from regional and remote locations in WA and beyond to access this high-quality professional learning experience virtually and also an option for those who wish to attend in person.
